Healthy Cooking Contest for Children, hosted by CNUE and sponsored by the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education, was held at CNUE Practical Arts Hall on Nov. 6, 2021. Marking its 17th anniversary this year, the contest aims to encourage children to have healthy eating habits and to help teachers to increase professional competence in teaching practical arts. This year’s theme was creative rice recipes. Thirty-one children from 16 teams, who had passed the preliminary document review of their ideas, competed in the finals which provided an opportunity to turn their original ideas into real rice dishes. "Healthy Green Onion~Wow~Rice" by Mr. Jong-sung Park’s pupils, Tae-yang Kim and Yoon-seo Jang from Bongui Elementary School in Chuncheon won first prize. "Fried Rice in a Punch Bowl and Apple Flavored Soy Sauce" by Mr. Seung-joon Choi’s pupils, Ha-eun Kim and Yeon-ji Lee from Imdang Elementary School in Yanggu, and "If You Draw a Line on a Pumpkin, Does It Become a Watermelon?" No, It Becomes Pizza." by Ms. Jin-sun’s Lee’s pupils, Eun-jae Kim and Yeon-woo Shin from Gyohak Elementary School in Wonju won second prize.
