The “5th National Youth A Cappella Competition” was held at Ilji Hall on Saturday, November 4, 2023. With 13 teams and approximately 150 students, parents, teachers, and the audience nationwide, this event served not only as a competition but as a place of harmony where everyone supported and encouraged each other. The competition commenced with an opening event by CNUE’s a capella group “FACE,” followed by a performance by the Japanese a capella group “8Law.” The event concluded with a collective performance of “Magic Castle” by all participants and teachers. Cho Suni, heading the CNUE A Capella Education Institute, which co-hosted this competition, commented, “I am impressed at how the student teams improve year by year. More participation of middle school students is also encouraging. I was especially honored to mentor the Gangwon State team.” President Kim Seung-ho of the Gangwon A Cappella Association also remarked, “The event was a festival where teenagers from around the country communicated and expressed themselves through a cappella. I look forward to participants from more regions next year.” The 5th National Youth A Cappella Competition was organized by the Chuncheon National University of Education and the Gangwon A Cappella Association, hosted by the Korea A Cappella Education Society, and sponsored by the Gangwon State Office of Education, Good Music Entertainment, Eduniety, and the Korea A Capella Association.

On behalf of the seven children of Lee Sung-deuk, the fourth to sixth President of the CNUE Alumni Association, Lee Soo-won(Former Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office), the third son and former Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, donated 133 million won in scholarship funds to Chuncheon National University of Education. The scholarship, named the “Lee Sung-deuk (Former President of the CNUE Alumni Association) and Jang Hui-hwa Scholarship Fund,” will be managed from 2024 to 2054. It will support one first-year student facing financial difficulties annually by covering their interest fees for an entire year. In its final year, 2054, the entirety of the scholarship fund will be provided to first-year students by covering their tuition fees. Lee Soo-won, former Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, said, “We endow the Lee Sung-deuk (former President of the CNUE Alumni Association) and Jang Hui-hwa Scholarship Fund to help students experiencing difficulties with their studies and living, in honor of my father, who worked as a teacher for most of his life.” President Lee Ju-han expressed his gratitude and commented, “We will do our utmost best to help students experiencing financial difficulties become outstanding elementary school teachers by reflecting on the meaning of the scholarship fund.”

CNUE's track and field group Balttamttwi (Coach: Professor Yoon Chan-soo) participated in the 11th National Universities of Education Track and Field Competition held Saturday, September 9, at the Seocheon Stadium, Chungcheongnam-do. The team won five medals, including one gold, one silver, and three bronze, and finished the competition in third place, thanks to the outstanding performances of many students. The team's coach, Professor Yoon Chan-soo, was awarded the Outstanding Coach Award from the Korean Universities Association of Athletics Federations.
