The CNUE Graduate School of Education signed a “Memorandum of Agreement for Creating a Data Education Ecosystem in Gangwon Province” at Kangwon National University on January 26, Friday, 2023. The signing was attended by approximately ten representatives from each university, including Park Miae, Dean of the CNUE Graduate School of Education; Lee Hui-jae, Director of the Gangwon Province Innovation Platform; Nam Soo Kyung, Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Kangwon National University, and Kim Jeong Ah, Dean of the College of Education at Catholic Kwandong University. The main provisions of the memorandum were to develop and run education programs for lecturers specializing in data education, educate professional lecturers by supporting a master’s program on AI convergence education, and establish data education practice rooms, educational equipment, as well as software infrastructure. Dean of the Graduate School of Education, Professor Park Miae, said, “I think this memorandum will greatly help improve the university’s infrastructure. I will continue the effort to establish a close cooperative system with the Gwangwon District Innovation Platform.”

Eight alumni of CNUE (Graduating Class of 1956, 13th) - Jeong Seung-soo, Yoo Man-hee, Park Hui-soon, Lee Sang-man, Hong Jong-guk, Choi Joon-young, Choi Jong-cheol, and Song Bong-gyu, visited the President’s Office and met President Lee Juhan on January 10, Tuesday, 2023. The alumni commented, “It is an honor to see how much the university has developed with our own eyes. We hope that our school can advance further to foster wonderful teachers.” In response, President Lee Juhan said, “Please watch our university grow with interest, and I hope for your continued interest and support.” Jeong Seung-hui, the Head of the Alumni Association, the Director of the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Director of the Office of Student Affairs, also attended the meeting.

A New Year’s ceremony attended by all staff members was held on January 2, Wednesday morning, at Ilji Hall, Hongik Gwan. In his New Year’s address, President Lee Juhan said, “I hope that all members of the university work together to find wise solutions for the university’s challenges and that our university makes further advancements.” The New Year’s ceremony was accompanied by an award ceremony, presenting the Ministry of Education Award (JeonJun-ha, Manager, Office of General Affairs) and the University President Award for Excellent Performances to seven recipients (Seo Mi-yeon, Office of General Affairs; Lee Jeong-in, Office of General Affairs, Lee Hyun-gwi, Office of General Affairs; Kwon Eun-jeong, Office of Strategic Planning; Lee Kyo-hyuk, Office of Admissions; Kim Min-jeong, Library; Park Myeong-ju, Dormitories). After the New Year’s ceremony, President Lee Juhan visited the student soldiers memorial on campus and the Woodo-dong monument to pay his respects.

On December 2, Friday, Mr. Lee Sang-hoon, an employee at the Office of Student Affairs, donated 500,000 KRW to the university development fund. Mr. Lee has continued to donate to the university development since 1995 and has been a model citizen in the local community by actively participating in many volunteer activities, such as cleaning the Lake Uiam Waterside Park, nighttime crime prevention activities, sending care packages to local senior citizens living alone, and preventing juvenile delinquency. He has also received a commendation from the Mayor of Chuncheon and a letter of appreciation from the Police Superintendent for his hard work. Mr. Lee Sang-hoon commented, "I will give my utmost support and effort for the development of the Chuncheon National University of Education."

The twelfth National Elementary Student Dance Competition (Head of Committee Hwang Myeong-ja) was held successfully at Seokwoo Hall on Saturday, November 26, 2022. In its twelfth year, the National Elementary Student Dance Competition was a festival that instilled children, who are future leaders of our society, with dreams and the courage to become dancers and presented them with opportunities to demonstrate their potential in the art of dance fully. Thirty-four teams (individuals) participated in this competition, which was divided into the artistic and school dance categories by the types of dances and also divided into individuals (lower grades, middle grades, higher grades) and groups. Jeong Chae-bin (Sincheorwon Elementary School) won the President Award (grand prize), Choi Ji-ye and three other students (Youngpung Elementary School and three other schools) received the Superintendent Award (first prize), and Kim Chaerin (Dongsong Elementary School) received the President of the Korean Federation of Teachers’ Association Award (special award).
