On January 2, Chuncheon National University of Education (CNUE) held its 2026 New Year Kick-Off Ceremony at Ilji Hall in Hongik Building. The event was attended by faculty and staff from across the University.

In her New Year’s address, Acting President Sangmee Kim stated, “I hope CNUE continues to be a proud and dependable community where all members, guided by mutual respect and consideration, can joyfully fulfill their roles. I wish each of you a meaningful start to the new year here at our University.”

The ceremony also included the presentation of a Minister of Education Commendation (SeongHyeon Nam, Academic Affairs and Instruction Team) and Presidential Awards for Outstanding Staff in 2025, presented to seven recipients: Yuna Jo (Administration Office, Graduate School of Education), Juyeon Kang (Student Affairs Team), Jiyoon Lee (Financial Support Project Group), Seonghwan Jo (Institute for Educational Innovation), Jihye Kim (Academic Affairs and Instruction Team), Gyeongseok Oh (General Affairs Team), and Suwon Choi (Finance Team).

Following the ceremony, Acting President Sangmee Kim and University representatives paid tribute at the campus Student Soldier Memorial and the Udu-dong Chungryeol Tower in honor of fallen patriots and national heroes.
